1984–
Eesti Kunstiakadeemia muuseum; NOBA
Mari Prekup (1984) has in recent years focused on the layers of traditional culture and their contemporary interpretations, moving from everyday rituals and the field of meaning of sacred groves toward the worldview of the Finno-Ugric and related peoples. Her works do not offer ready-made answers, but open up a space where remembering is at once both a sacred and a fragile act. Prekup holds a master's degree in printmaking from the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) (2015); she has been active in art life both as an exhibiting artist, performance artist and organiser, and has received, among other awards, the Eduard Wiiralt Young Author's Award.
