Mirja-Mari Smidt (b. 1977) works mainly in the field of free graphic art and painting (watercolour, oil, author's technique). She graduated from the graphic art department of EKA in 1999 and also studied interdisciplinary arts there (M.A. 2002). Thanks to what she learned there, dance, singing and body culture temporarily entered her work, which were later replaced by an inward turn. Her last major appearance was at the Muhu Print 2017 overview exhibition at the Kuku Club. In Mirja-Mari's works, an autobiographical thread (birth, death, being in harmony with nature, longing for perfection) runs alongside reflections on the themes of faith, history and the environment.
