Miina Barrera Pinochet

Miina Barrera Pinochet (b. 1991 in Tartu) is an artist from Estonia whose creative practice is divided between Estonia and Germany. Her main medium is painting, complemented by video art and performance. Barrera Pinochet's work often addresses the connections between nature, psychology and human nature, focusing on the cycles of decay and renewal and their emotional and existential resonance in both ecological and inner landscapes. Drawing on natural morphologies, the boundaries between the organic and the symbolic, the intimate and the universal become blurred in her work. Miina Barrera Pinochet graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in painting (BA, 2016) and furthered her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts. She is currently completing her studies in fine arts at the Kassel Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2025 she has been a member of the Estonian Artists' Association and the Estonian Painters' Association, and a co-founder of the international artist collective Fluidum Ensemble.
