NOBA; Vaal galerii
Mia Mai Seppel (2003) focuses her work on painting and monumental art techniques. She began her studies at the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2022, and has also studied as an exchange student at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK). Seppel's work combines (finished) text with visual art; the word is the starting point for a search for symbols and visual rebirth. Text and image begin to give meaning to one another, the past becomes contemporary, and the contemporary in turn notes that life seems never to have changed at all. Recurring themes include corporeality, mythology, Rorschach-like mirror images, and desire as a force driving human beings. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
