Eesti Kunsti Oksjonid; NOBA; Osta Noort Kunsti
Laivi (Laivi Suurväli, b. 1988) obtained a bachelor's degree from the fashion department of the Estonian Academy of Arts and a master's degree in fashion design from Aalto University in Helsinki. She has additionally studied fashion magazine design and advertising in London, completed a sustainable fashion summer school in Copenhagen, and interned at the fashion house of Boris Bidjan Saberi in Barcelona. In addition to group exhibitions, she has had 6 solo exhibitions over the past 2 years, the most notable of which are "Unista Edasi/Liiga Hea" at the Tartu Art Museum and "Maine igatsus: leida ja kaotada" together with Mihkel Maripuu at Hobusepea Gallery. She has recently started a new series of performative fashion installations, the first two exhibition evenings of which took place at the ARS Project Room in Tallinn. Her work is characterised by an experimental approach to textiles and clothing. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
