1751–1812 · English painter and mezzotint engraver
Eesti Kunstimuuseum; Pärnu Muuseum; Tartu Kunstimuuseum
In the middle of the room stands a serious-faced young lady in light-coloured 18th-century clothing with a grey wig. On the left, on an upholstered chair with a striped cover, sits a small dog. Behind the lady stands a maidservant in a bonnet, arranging her attire. On the right, on a blue chair, sits a young man in a red coat and wig, looking at the lady. The man holds a tricorne hat on his knees. A dark cloak has been thrown over the back of the chair. In the background stands a dressing table with a mirror in a small rectangular wooden frame, and above, in the wall, a window with striped curtains.
