NOBA
Jaanus Eensalu is a painter, graphic designer and lecturer. He completed his creative educational journey at the University of Tartu and at the Tartu Art College Pallas, where he works as both head of department and associate professor. For years he has been developing and heading the media design department at Pallas, and dealing with issues of media and advertising design. Art and design education is especially important and significant today, because our world is changing at every moment and very quickly. Eensalu is a member of the Estonian Association of Graphic Designers and the Tartu Artists' Union. He has exhibited since 1971, and has also created a number of exhibition designs. He is a highly regarded design and media artist. Happy art! It is in the nature of the individual to wish to be happy and to devote oneself to one's favourite activity. Work that we respect, love, are skilled at, and through which we are able to create both spiritual and physical value, gives us the opportunity to be a participant in the process – an artist, a creator. What is happy art? Perceiving happy art requires, for a moment, standing still, mental and physical independence and an open, positively receptive attitude, i.e. a pause. The basic principle of acquiring happy art is founded on a retrospective legend of private income*, giving the acquirer a spiritual. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
