Nele Tiidelepp (1998) is a multidisciplinary artist and writer who graduated from the Department of Installation and Sculpture at the Estonian Academy of Arts, whose artistic practice is driven by spontaneous reactions to the environment and materials. Poetic and literary elements and narratives often appear in her works. Tiidelepp operates on the border of fictional and real spaces, people and moments, whereby collectivity often appears, both in a direct and an indirect sense: from the use of random fragments of sentences by other people in her texts, to collectively created performances in which every participant is an equally important author. Her works are located on an axis at either end of which stand media of contradictory nature: sculpture and text. The first of these is static, dictated by the practical world and limited by the capabilities of the human body. The second, however, is available at any moment, quick, light, weightless and limited only by the imagination. Somewhere in between are located performative interventions manifesting themselves in different contexts, which often contain text and sound.
