1986– · Estonian artist residing in Berlin, Germany (born 1986)
Eesti Kunsti Oksjonid; NOBA; Tartu Kunstimuuseum
Marta Stratskas (b.1986) is an Estonian artist living in Berlin. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a master's degree in painting. Marta's bold and textured paintings combine old Baroque and Gothic elements, contrasting them with contemporary pop motifs, interweaving sacred, extreme human conditions and borderline situations. In her works theme and execution merge. A study of colour, light, and the presence/intention of the artist in the moment. Marta Stratskas has been a member of the Estonian Artists' Association since 2014 and has participated in exhibitions since 2009. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
