Karin Kalman

1962– · Estonian ceramicist (born 1962)
Hiiumaa Muuseumid; NOBA

Karin Kalman (1962) uses various types of clay in her work – from porcelain to coarse chamotte clay – and fires her works in both electric and wood-burning kilns. Alongside her exhibition activity she works as a lecturer in ceramics at the Estonian Academy of Arts and works in her own Studio Ceramics workshop. Kalman graduated from the ceramics department of ERKI (1986) and has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Estonia and abroad. Her works can be found in several (private) collections. Kalman is a member of the Estonian Ceramists' Association and the Estonian Artists' Association. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
