Eesti Kunsti Oksjonid; NOBA
Eve Valper was born in 1969 in Võru. She studied at the painting department of the University of Tartu in the years 1993–1998; she works as a freelance painter; she is also an art teacher at a hobby school and gives further-training courses in painting at the Tartu Art College Pallas. Member of the Tartu Artists' Association since 2024. In her work she is interested in space and light and the problems of perceiving the visible world, as well as matters related to history and cultural heritage; in her paintings she has recently examined the relationship of the surrounding urban space, or more broadly the environment, with the subjectivity of vision and perception. She approaches her subject matter primarily through colour, aiming to create on the two-dimensional surface of the work space, light and the environments that live their own life within it, and striving to synthesise a colour-centred painting tradition with a world of meanings and stories.
