1935–1992 · Estonian scenographer (1935-1992)
Pärnu Muuseum
trained at Estonian Academy of Arts
At the ERKI, Uno Uibo studied theatre decoration painting as a student of Prof. Voldemar Haas and Natalie Mei. His diploma work in 1960 was Anton Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard". While working at the Pärnu Lydia Koidula Drama Theatre (Endla), he designed, for example, the productions: M. Lassila's "The Wise Virgin", Lope de Vega's "The Dance Master", Th. Wilder's "Our Town", K. Saja's "Puutuvid" and others. From 1985, as a freelancer, U. Uibo practised watercolour and pastel painting (landscapes, cityscapes, flowers), participated in review exhibitions of theatre artists and held solo exhibitions in Pärnu, Tallinn and Vaasa. In recent years the artist was a valued teacher at the Pärnu Children's Art School. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
