Sohvi Viik (b. 1991) graduated in 2016 from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a master's degree in sculpture and installation. Earlier studies in the photography department of the Estonian Academy of Arts gave her a strong foundation in contemporary art and photography, and an exchange period in 2013 at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design in Norway added a deeper engagement with the themes of video projection, sound and space. Sohvi Viik has taken part in numerous joint exhibitions and has also organised two solo exhibitions. Her main media are video, photo, sound and installation. She finds inspiration in art from the works of Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
