Sofi Aršas (1965) is a glass artist who deals in her work with situations related to a sense of danger and security, both in a general and personal context. Recently her sphere of interest has been the expression of the sensory experiences of different spaces, the objects found in them, relationships lived through, and also dreams. Aršas has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Estonia and internationally, and is one of the people expanding the boundaries of Estonian contemporary glass art, having curated several exhibitions. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in glass art (1992) and currently teaches at the Tallinn Art School and in her own studio Mustvalge. Aršas is a member of the Estonian Glass Artists' Union and the Estonian Artists' Association. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
