1980–
NOBA
Paco Ulman (b. 1980) is a Tallinn architect and photographic artist, who has gained recognition primarily for his metaphysical still lifes in the contemporary urban environment. Since 2008 he has held a Master's degree in Architecture from the Estonian Academy of Arts. As a photographic artist, Ulman deals mostly with the problems of urban space, which he encounters in his everyday work as an architect, dislocating the concepts of time and space as well as the categories of space and the representation of space. Currently, his most important solo exhibitions include "Tallinnas" at Hobusepea Gallery in 2009, "Tallinn-Helsinki-Stockholm" at Tallinn City Gallery in 2011, and "mememe" at Hobusepea Gallery in 2014. In 2012 Ulman received the Sadolin Contemporary Art Prize. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
