Ove Maidla

1959– · Estonian photographer
Allee galerii; Haus Galerii; NOBA

Ove Maidla was born in Tartu on a cold winter evening in 1959 at a quarter to nine. Maidla is a Tartu photographic artist of a lyrical temperament. He likes to work on the borderline between photography and printmaking, and is especially interested in old noble techniques, which produce a painterly image as a result. Maidla has mainly remained devoted to the bromoil technique and photogravure. His newest passion at the moment is linocut. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
