Sculptor Olger Lehtsaar (born 1995), originally from Tartu, studied biology at the University of Tartu (2014-2018), from where he moved on to the Pallas University of Applied Sciences (2016-2022). At Pallas he completed his studies in sculpture with the Amandus distinction. During his studies he took part in the snow sculpture symposium in Valloires, France, made a commissioned bas-relief of Oskar Rütli, technically assisted in creating works for artist Jevgeni Zolotko's exhibition "Armastus" (2021), and has also participated in the art teams of several film projects as a set designer and builder of more complex props. He has taken part in the exhibitions "Maniakaalsed rütmid" (2017), "Pallase skulptuurinäitus EMÜ's" (2019), "0,04tk/m²" (2019), "vali Vari" (2020), "Tulvab olemisse" (2021), "LEND 2022" (2022) and, most recently, at the Estonian Sculptors' Union's year-end exhibition "Konserveeritud mateeria" (2022). He describes sculptures for himself as a whole reflecting a mood, i.e. a physical depiction in concrete form of some thought or mood. Describing a mood through an object adds nuance, since words are often insufficient linguistically. Thus, through sculpture, people's worlds of mood can be brought closer to one another.
