Keiu Koppel

1988–
NOBA

Keiu Koppel (b. 1988) has graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in Jewellery and Blacksmithing (BA) and has also furthered her studies at the Escola Massana design school in Barcelona. Keiu Koppel's medium of expression is metal, but in her jewellery she also uses a whole range of other materials, from classic facet-cut precious stones to computer motherboards. Koppel's works express utopias of the future, the nodal points of physical, spiritual and virtual reality, and the place of the human being within them. In 2017 her largest solo exhibition to date, 'Lost in Details', took place at the Trofeja gallery in Berlin, and in 2018 the same exhibition was shown at the HOP gallery in Tallinn. 'Lost in Details' looks at both small and large objects, and even entire worlds, as analogies and patterns that form an orderly and logical whole out of chaos.
