Jane Muts (b. 1984) graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in painting within the Fine Arts department. Jane Muts depicts primarily space within space in her works. Muts treats colour as a building material and creates an illusion of space through composition. Thick layers of pigment gradually applied to the canvas create richly textured surfaces, as a result of which the interior scenes call spatial perception into question. Her technique helps to connect areas of detail and emptiness. She has taken part in the Estonian Artists' Association's 22nd annual exhibition "Kevadnäitus 2022" (2022), the TASE'22 graduation exhibition (2022), a group exhibition of EKA painting students at the premises of the Chancellor of Justice of the Republic of Estonia (2021), the Buy Young Art exhibition in the green hall of the Telliskivi Creative City (2021), and the EKA Painting Course A,B,C…Z group exhibition on the walls of the restaurant Kärbes (2019).
