Aksel Haagensen (b. 1993) is a Tallinn-based artist. He completed his bachelor's studies in installation and sculpture at the Estonian Academy of Arts. In his art he engages with questions of photography and documentation theory. He is not so much interested in the content of photographs as in what remains outside the frame or the shot, both physically and theoretically. With the series of light boxes presented at the fair, he explores the capriciousness of the attention directed at photographs and the fragility of the connections between photographs and accompanying texts. The work invites the viewer to take part in the process of viewing. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
