She studied until 1933 at the Hugo Treffner Gymnasium in Tartu (drawing teacher Eduard Ole), graduated in 1934 from the Tallinn Boys' Real Gymnasium, studied in 1934–38 decorative painting at the State School of Applied Art. From 1936 she worked at the Tallinn Workers' Theatre. From 1937 she designed puppet productions at the Drama Theatre, working at the same theatre (with a break) until 1950 (as chief artist 1948–50); in 1946–48 she was also the stage designer of the Youth Theatre. In 1950–61 she worked at the Industrial Combine of the Estonian SSR Theatre Union, later working as an applied graphic artist (1968–86 at the experimental combine Bit). She designed books, for example Perrault's "Little Red Riding Hood" (1942), Kreutzwald's "Puulane ja tohtlane" (1945); as a fiction-book designer she made cover designs for the Estonian SSR Theatre Union's publication "Eesti NSV Teatrid" (1957–60).
