The exhibition presents heroes or their stories. The short film "Eternal Flame" (11 min) offers one solution to the fate of former heroes, slides show the hero in situations that demand him, but the situations are staged. The artist is a rescuer, a comforter. If no one needs to be rescued, the rescuer must somehow manage - staging situations for himself in which he is needed and gathering around himself young disciples who might carry his ideas onward. Those who need rescuing search among false possibilities of rescue. Both are in an awkward situation, where one must advertise himself to the other by means of a staging. The slides do not actually offer ready-made solutions, but hint at the beginning of the rescue process, at its possibility. Eternal Flame speaks of love for propagated role models. A girl raised in the Soviet spirit is taught to respect heroes, reminders of whom, as bronze sculptures, filled our whole city. But the girl's belief in the ideal finds expression in love for a sacred image. For a girl raised in the era of the Soviet atheist state order, this is the Bronze Soldier of Tõnismägi. This could be a contemporary version of the myth of Pygmalion and Oscar Wilde's "The Happy Prince", adapted to Estonian reality. At present the places of heroes are vacant. If someone could take them, then who. The exhibition claims to raise a question in the viewer and, as a reminder, offers its own version of heroes.
