NOBA
Allan Roosileht is a legendary Estonian musician, DJ and music lover, one of whose hobbies is collecting sound recordings. In addition to his love of music, Allan is also a great enthusiast of art. "I think my first interest in art is connected with my mother. My mother bought and gave art to loved ones, and it was probably on her recommendation that I had my first great art experience at the Kunstihoone exhibition "Ruum ja vorm" ("Space and Form") in 1976. Since then I have been on familiar terms with art. During my time at university I had the honour of attending Kaalu Kirme's wonderful lectures on art history. Those wonderfully warm and exciting teachings helped me form a broader picture of what was happening in the art world. I have considered Leonhard Lapin my great favourite and inspiration, and through him also Kandinsky. Music, especially pop and rock music, has always been connected with art. Salvador Dalí teamed up with Alice Cooper, Andy Warhol with "The Rolling Stones". Jüri Arrak has designed the album covers of "Metsatöll", and Kalev Mark Kostabi has made forays into music. In the world there is a range of artists and designers whose work is known precisely through record covers," says Allan Roosileht. (machine translation of the holder's Estonian text, unedited)
